Our Mission
At The CBT Collective, we want to empower individuals and communities through the delivery of accessible, evidence-based mental health care and resources. We are committed to nurturing emotional well-being and cultivating resiliency.
What We Do
CBT Psychotherapy
CBT Psychotherapy helps individuals identify and change negative thought patterns and behaviours to improve well-being. Sessions focus on examining the connection between thoughts, emotions, and actions, and teaches practical strategies to manage and overcome psychological and situational challenges.
CBT Assessments
A trained therapist conducts an initial questionnaire and interview to gather information about the individual's current psychological symptoms, thought patterns, and behavioural patterns. This assessment is used to identify specific issues, set treatment goals, and develop a tailored CBT plan to address the individual's unique needs and challenges.
Mental Health Workshops & Skills Training
Our mental health workshops utilize CBT principles in a group setting, providing participants with practical skills and strategies to improve their emotional well-being, develop coping mechanisms, and build resilience. These workshops can be tailored to respond to specific concerns of organizations, schools, and groups.
A Social Enterprise
The CBT Collective is a social enterprise. This means that our primary purpose of generating revenue is to fund the social causes we care about — namely, mental health. The funds generated are used to provide CBT counselling and workshops to encourage individual and collective resiliency in underserved communities.
Spending Breakdown
Community Building means building partnerships and relationships with underserved communities that would benefit from CBT Collective’s pro bono services. We prioritize communities who request support specifically from CBTC and have a relationship with our organization prior to requests for service. For more about requests for service, please contact admin@thecbtcollective.com
Resource Development means creating digital and physical copies of resources used to provide cognitive behavioural therapy psychoeducation and counselling in underserved communities. CBTC resources are created to be flexible enough to use in a variety of settings.
Crisis Support means having a reservoir of therapist and crisis support personnel to provide rapid response to communities in emergency or distress situations. CBTC Crisis Support is community-oriented, meaning that we are on the ground providing psychosocial support and leadership. This service is by request only.
